Educating and empowering women has been on my heart ever since taking a childbirth education course (while pregnant with my first child) and experiencing the most incredible unmedicated delivery. Now, with over 8 years of experience teaching and supporting couples in several different cities (thanks to military moves), I am excited to offer doula services in Colorado Springs, CO.
What is a Doula?
A doula (/ˈduːlə/), also known as a birth companion and post-birth supporter, is a non-medical person who assists a person before, during, and/or after childbirth, as well as her spouse and/or family, by providing physical assistance and emotional support.
Did you know that having a doula has been shown to decrease the time you’re in labor by 25%, reduce your chance of a C-section by 50% and decrease your likelihood of needing an epidural by 60%? We aren’t technically superheroes but…
What I Offer:
Prenatal meetings to ensure confidence as you approach your baby’s birth-day
Assistance in creating a personalized Birth Plan
Continuous physical & emotional support during labor and the immediate postpartum
Help with relaxation & breathing
Suggestions for labor/pushing positions
For your use in labor, I bring a Kaya Birth Stool, CUB Inflatable Birth Stool, Birth Ball, Rebozo along with many other essentials for your comfort
Professional photography to capture your beautiful bump, the birth of your baby and those moments at home with your newborn
My DOULA Services Include:
Free consultation meeting where we’ll talk about your pregnancy, birth preferences and any concerns you may have. You’ll have the opportunity to interview me, review my contract and decide whether you’d like to have me as your doula
1-2 prenatal visits where we continue our first conversation in greater depth and review some labor positions and practice relaxation
On-call for your birth starting 2 weeks before your estimated due date until your delivery
Provide continuous support during early labor via text/phone and will join at your birth place to provide continuous support during active labor until you are settled postpartum
After the birth, I will remain with you for a short while to answer any questions you may have. I can help you start breastfeeding, offer suggestions for staying comfortable over the next few days, etc
Postpartum visit 5-10 days after the birth (or sooner if needed) to make sure your transition to motherhood is going well
If I have the opportunity to be your doula, I will be on-call for 2 weeks before and after your estimated due date. I will typically have another trusted doula on call as backup in case of an emergency.

I do not make decisions for you but rather help you get the information you need in order to make the most informed choices possible. I cannot speak for you to staff and care providers but can help you ask the important questions.

What it Costs
BIRTH DOULA $1800
While I honor and support ANY type of birth plan, I specialize in couples looking to avoid unnecessary interventions and who wish to achieve unmedicagted births. This fee includes prenatal, labor and immediate postpartum services as described below.

BIRTH DOULA (STUDENT) $1600
Students enrolled in my comprehensive childbirth education course will have scheduling priority and will save $200 on my doula services. The bond we will develop and the knowledge you will acquire over the course of our comprehensive childbirth class will help you achieve your goals of having an informed and empowered birth experience. COMPLETE BIRTH PACKAGE $4,000 ($4,350 value)
Includes comprehensive childbirth education ($450 value), Doula Services ($1,800 value) and Maternity, Birth + Newborn Photography ($2,100 value).
I am willing to negotiate payment plans in cases of financial difficulties. I require a $500 non-refundable deposit and accept payment by Venmo @birthwellcosprings.
